Holotrop ist ein deutsches Projekt für elektronische Musik (Psychedelic, Ritual[1]) von Tino Seibt aus Berlin.[2]
Das Wort Holotrop (übersetzt etwa "Streben nach dem Ganzen") ist griechischen Ursprungs und wurde zum ersten Mal von dem tschechischen Psychotherapeuten und Psychologen Stanislav Grof (* 1931) verwendet. Er erfand mit seiner Frau Christina Grof (1941–2014)[3] die Technik des holotropen Atmens. Diese Atemmethode ermöglichte den Zugang zu veränderten Bewusstseinszuständen.[4] Seit 2013 veröffentlicht Holotrop seine Alben beim eigenen Label Qualia. Am 4. Juli 2015 trat Holotrop bei Summer Magick in Dresden auf. Von dem Auftritt wurde ein Live-Album auf Bandcamp zum kostenlosen Download zur Verfügung gestellt.[5] Im November 2016 spielte Holotrop beim Wrocław Industrial Festival in Breslau in Polen. Am 15. Oktober 2018 veröffentlichten Holotrop und Urna (Gianluca Martucci) das Split-Album "Enkoimesis". Am 20. Oktober 2018 trat Holotrop beim Maschinenfest in der Turbinenhalle in Oberhausen auf.
